We've got people talking

So I go to this technorati.com to see if anyone is actually linking to the ol' webleed4real.blogspot.com.

I was surprised to see this entry from a blog called the oh five where the guy brags about how he just dropped $400 on a video iPod (this was back in October), and he's bitching about how he doesn't have any video content to download, except for The Suicide Girls and some "bad backyard wrestling". OUCH!

Apparently he wasn't thrilled about the Skullmaster vs. Greg The Dude match.

Well, we are going to show them. We're going to kick off the new year with a party....in fact...a MARIO PARTY!

That's right. Arguably the greatest WWF/NJHC PPV, MARIO PARTY will be the content of the next series of video podcasts.

2006 is going to start off with HardCore Herman vs. The Ivy Leaguer in a CAMBRIDGE STREET FIGHT (where the loser is reduced to a bloody pulp)!

Stay iTuned...

WB4R honors Eddie Guerrero

We at the WeBleed4Real Podcast are saddened by the news of the passing of former WWE Champion, Eddie Guerrero. In a time where wrestling isn't the most fun thing to watch, Eddie Guerrero was a performer who always gave at least 100 percent while he was in the ring and on TV.
It's been over 6 years since another of our favorites, Owen Hart, passed away. Even more heartbreaking was the loss of our good friend, Marcus, almost 3 years ago. Why is it too often "the good ones" that seem to leave us to soon?

Ivy Leaguer vs Dark One part deux

The exciting conclusion of The Ivy Leaguer vs. The Dark One match from War at the Shore. Will Sensational Shannon get involved? What's a dog doing in this match?!? Witness the controversial ending to this match for the Wildwood Wrestling Federation Championship.

This video is just a hair over 10 minutes long and is a 26.6 MB Quicktime H.264 movie download. Enjoy and share your comments.

Does The Ivy Leaguer = Ratings?!?

We'd like to thank all the WeBleed4Real fans for putting us over the century mark for the first time according to our Feedburner.com stats.

Many attribute this huge ratings spike to the last video podcast featuring Part One of the classic Ivy Leaguer vs. Dark One beach match from War at the Shore. We'll see if fans can top that with next week's exciting and shocking conclusion to that match.

Here's an email from a loyal WB4R fan named Rich:
"Guys, I love the product. Amazing. I got a couple guys at work turned onto it too....Thanks again from a fan that has been lost by the WWE."

We also were given the distinction of a 5-Star Award from Podspider. Not exactly sure how prestigious this is, but hey we'll take it. They have some podcatching software as well, so check them out if you want. Or if they just send this award out to anyone who's podcasting in an attempt to just shamelessly promote their product, then screw 'em.

Ivy Leaguer vs Dark One pt1

Surprise! Here's another video podcast of another NJHC/WWF match!

This classic match from War at the Shore features the first of the many battles between The Ivy Leaguer and The Dark One. This one was for the Wildwood Wrestling Federation Championship and was on the beach! Witness the first half of this match exclusively on the WB4R podcast!

Was The Dark One able to overcome The Ivy Leaguer along with the Sensational Shannon and a crooked referee?!? Tune in to find out!

On commentary are The Dude and "Mr. Sunday Night" Hardcore Herman. This match was one of the longer ones, so we'll be podcasting the 1st half this week and then the exciting conclusion next week!

We recommend viewing the match with iTunes 6 and Quicktime 7. You can find links to these free programs from our blog/website: http://webleed4real.blogspot.com

Fat Whacker vs The Dude Video Podcast

This video podcast features a match from Cornchip Christmas: Greg The Dude vs. Fat Whacker. Waldo Corniford provides play-by-play, and Paul Schiavone does color commentary.

This was featured previously on the last WeBleed4Real audio podcast, but this is the complete video. As you can tell, the video 'action' does not exactly do justice to the superb commentary.

I was too lazy to get an audio podcast out this week. Maybe next time, but enjoy this for now.

In other news, WWE.com is saying that Christian has quit. If Mr. Jay Reso is at all interested in joining the WB4R team, he is always welcome.

On an unrelated note, I guess the Eagles are learning that you can't pull a victory out of your ass EVERY week. Let's hope they get their act together with some upcoming pivotal NFC East division games.

We almost broke 100 'readers' according to our Feedburner stats this past week. Keep subscribing fans!

Happy Birthday to Mrs. Spoonman!

Wow...what a finish!

So living here in Oklahoma isn't the most ideal situation for an Eagles fan. I get home this afternoon, and turn on CBS hoping to get Eagles vs. Chargers, but nope. We get Steelers vs. Bengals. Such is life without DirectTV or Cable or whatever.

That's why I just went to do work on the computer and just keep tabs on the game through ESPN's GameCast. The Eagles were trailing but had the ball with some minutes to spare. I looked at the scoreboard and the Steelers/Bengals game was a final, so I went back to the tube and WOO HOO...bonus Eagles coverage on CBS!

Eagles looked in trouble. 4th and 1 and McNabb....passes?!? Incomplete?!? MOTHERF*CKER!!!!!!

Why do you pass with only 1 yard to go? Surely Westbrook can pick up that yard? That should have been the bonehead play of the year.

Chargers come back and get some decent yardage. Well within field goal range. Here comes Chargers kicker, Nate Kaeding. CBS is nice enough to splash across the screen to remind fans that he has not missed a kick this whole year. Eagles fans head for the exit. I'm ready to turn the TV off as well...

The kick is up.....and it's BLOCKED?!? Matt Ware picks it up! He...GOES...ALL...THE...WAY...TOUCHDOWNNNNN!!!!!

How often does that happen?!? Apparently according to Eagles team history, it never has...'til today.

Can you feel it? It's destiny calling. The race for the NFC East looks like it's going to be a wild and fun ride.

We'll be back to wrestling next time.

P.S. - Oh yeah, the Cowboys lost today, so F' YOU, SLABBY!!!

New Milestone!

Woo hoo...according to feedburner.com, your WB4R podcast has reached its highest numbers to date at 72! To tell you the truth, I'm not exactly sure what that means. Does that mean 72 subscribers or 72 people who just were passing by and thought, "What the fuck are these guys doing?!?"

Either way, we appreciate the dozens.....AND DOZENS....of you WB4R fans out there. As you can see, we have quite a ways to go before toppling the current iTunes Music Store Podcast champ, Tiki Bar TV. Of course, we didn't get a plug at Steve Jobs's speech last week and get all the publicity on the Apple website, so give us a break!

Speaking of iTunes, according to this pie chart (heh...i said pie...), looks like 43 of you accessed us through iTunes. So we'll try to keep the 'quality' content coming out. If you have a special request for a certain match or segment that you'd like featured in our next video podcast, send us an email or leave us a comment.

SkullMaster vs Dude VIDEO v.2

This is version 2 of SkullMaster vs. The Dude. I'm experimenting with video file formats. This is exported from iMovie/Quicktime Pro using the new "Export to iPod" option.

Here are differences I noticed from the Quicktime H.264 version of the same movie:

1. It sized it to 320 x 213 instead of 320 x 240.
2. The file size came out to 20 MB, where the first version was just under 10 MB
3. The data rate was 680.75 kbits/sec compared to 337.17 kbits/sec, so that was likely a factor in the difference in file size.
4. The video quality is better likely because of the data rate
5. Apparently this .m4v file extension's default application opens up iTunes automatically and copies to your iTunes Library. I don't think you can play it within your browser like the other Quicktime formats, which isn't cool to me.

Let your podcast host know which file format you like better, as we try to figure out what works best for loyal viewers.

SkullMaster vs The Dude VIDEO Podcast

This is the first-ever video podcast of a full-length wrestling match featuring the WWF champion Skullmaster taking on Greg The Dude in a tournament to determine the Undisputed NJHC/WWF champion. This comes from the NJHC Season Finale.

The Ivy Leaguer is also featured giving medical advice to The Dude during the pre-match segment. Also of note is the "Blair Witch Project"-style camera work.

This is a Quicktime movie with the H.264 video codec. And yes, it is compatible with the new video iPods!

It is highly recommended that you view video podcasts through iTunes 6 and have Quicktime Player 7 installed.

iTunes 6 can be downloaded for free here: http://www.apple.com/itunes/download

Quicktime 7 can be downloaded for free here: http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download

WB4R Podcast: The Dude vs The Whack

On this WB4R podcast:

We do the first-ever audio podcast of a full-length wrestling match. This historic podcast features a match from Cornchip Christmas: Greg The Dude vs. Fat Whacker. Waldo Corniford provides play-by-play, and Paul Schiavone does color commentary.

We also talk about the 'firing' of that bastard Jim Ross from RAW and the release of the new video iPod and what this means to WeBleed4Real Podcast fans.

NJHC, coming soon to your iPod!

Yes, if you're one of the lucky WeBleed4Real Podcast fans to get a hold of one of the new iPods with video, then you will soon be able to WATCH podcasts of your favorite NJHC/WWF matches in the palm of your hands wherever you go!

I know Spoonman was in the market to buy a new iPod. And with his compulsive spending habits, you know he's going to run to the local Apple retail store next week and pick up one or two.

Apple CEO, Steve Jobs, yesterday mentioned that you can purchase episodes of 'Lost' and 'Desperate Housewives' for $1.99 from the iTunes Music Store. He neglected that the music store will be also featuring matches from NJHC/WWF pay-per-views that can be downloaded for FREE! Insiders say that Jobs intentionally did not mention the WeBleed4Real Podcasts so as not to hurt sales for the Disney/ABC TV shows.

"So when is the next WB4R podcast?", fans have been wondering. Your host is working on editing the first audio podcast of a full-length NJHC/WWF match. Stay tuned...or should i say stay iTuned?

Other news this week includes the 'firing' of good ol' J.R., Jim Ross. No wonder he was in such a lousy mood when we tried to interview him for our last WB4R podcast. We wish him good riddance if this is true that he will no longer be announcer. We were sick of hearing him and seeing his ugly crooked Okie ass-face. Bring in Joey Styles, or Paul Schiavone. Ahh...how great it would have been if Waldo Corniford was the RAW play-by-play guy. We miss you, Marcus. We'll pay some more tribute to you in the upcoming weeks.

FINALLY.....

After over a month of waiting, I finally got those guys at iTunes to publish the WeBleed4Real Podcast! I had to submit another feed to try to bypass whatever they felt was wrong with the original feed. Nonetheless, you can view it in iTunes by going to this URL: http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewPodcast?id=77967568
We'll try to post new content this weekend, but it looks like we'll stick with the new feed that iTunes accepted. So if you want to subscribe from now on, here's the new feed in honor of Marcus: http://feeds.feedburner.com/longliveluger

Summerslam History

As we approach Summerslam, I thought I'd check out WWE.com for information on this year's Summerslam. I caught a bit of Smackdown last night that left a sour taste in my mouth thanks to Chris Benoit doing the J-O-B to Randy Orton. However, this year's Summerslam actually has some matches that kind of intrigue me. Not to the point of actually getting cable and buying the PPV, but I digress.

So I surf around the Summerslam site and there's a history section. I click around to the good ol' Summerslam 1990. So if you go to http://www.wwe.com/shows/summerslam/history/1990/photos/, you get the picture posted here.

So what? It has the late great Mighty Hercules giving (the might as well be late great) Marty Jannetty a body slam. Well if you look closely underneath Paul Roma's armpit, who is that skinny chalky-colored kid in the purple shirt wearing a burger king crown raising his fist in approval with a slighty homo-erotic smile towards Hercules?

THAT'S THE SPOONMAN!!! (or Spoonboy?)

Yes, Spoonman at the ripe old age of 17 was there live at the very first WWF Summerslam pay-per-view to be held at the Philadelphia Rectum (I mean Philadelphia Spectrum). He was there with a couple other guys who aren't really important.

It's funny that you can watch that match online through the WWE.com match jukebox in the "Classic Summerslam Matches" section. Of course, it would be better if they put the Warlord vs. Tito Santana match up online, as Spoonman is the only one standing up and cheering where the rest of the crowd could give a shit.

Happy 15th Anniversary for Summerslam 1990! Oh how we miss those days when pay-per-views actually meant something.

This is the NJHC Video Podcast

Here's our first video podcast featuring highlights from all the NJHC/WWF pay-per-views. Many thanks to Rob Zombie for providing the music. I apologize for the large 40 MB file size, but I tried to compress it to 12 MB and it looked like shit. You can tell the difference in quality especially when you view it in full screen mode in iTunes.

Make sure you have Quicktime 7 installed.

If you're a Windows user, you can get Quicktime 7 for Windows Preview by clicking here.

Don't forget to vote for us at Podcast Alley!

We're also hoping to be published on Odeo. Pardon the required link below.

My Odeo Channel (odeo/4722e6df3081ec60)

We'll try to back with a traditional audio podcast within the next week or two.

Where's my WB4R podcast?

A lot of fans have been wondering where this week's WB4R podcast is. The promised video podcast will likely be delayed as your host, good ol' S.M. is going to be in Chicago (Ooohhh....WHAT A RRRUUUSSSHHH!!!!!) for the next 3 days.

On top of that, as much as I love the iTunes Music Store for supporting podcasts, I have to say WTF is taking so long to publish our podcast?!? I know my brother got his podcast published within a week of submitting his feed. I go back to the iTMS and when I resubmit the feed, all it says is: "The feed has already been submitted." OK? But am I rejected?!? Is it because I have another podcast? Is it because I said FUCK about 12 times on the last podcast? Do they have a problem with me playing all the music? First of all, I usually don't play the songs in their entirety, and when I do play them, I usually sing over them. If I don't hear anything soon, I may try changing hosts to try to "trick" the reviewers into publishing the podcast. I've already tried creating a new feed, but somehow the iTMS recognized it was the same thing and said that feed was already submitted.

What do you fans think?

By the way, you can listen to us and vote for us on podcastalley.com. Just do a search for wrestling, and you should see us at like number 16 on the search results page.

Here are the lyrics in case you want to sing along!

Bayang magiliw
Perlas ng Silanganan
Alab ng puso
Sa dibdib mo'y buhay
Lupang hinirang
Duyan ka ng magiting
Sa manlulupig
Di ka pasisiil.
Sa Dagat at bundok
Sa simoy at sa langit mong bughaw
May dilag ang tula
At awit sa paglayang minamahal.
Ang kislap ng watawat mo'y
Tagumpay na nagniningning
Ang bituin at araw niya
Kailan pa ma'y di magdidilim.
Lupa ng araw
ng luwalhati't pagsinta
Buhay ay langit sa piling mo.
Aming ligaya
Na pag may mang-aapi
Ang mamatay nang dahil sa iyo.
