The Dark One vs The Dude Pt 1

Well, well, well....

Look what's back! It's the WB4R Podcast coming back yet again with another exciting video podcast. This episode features part one of the epic battle where The Dude challenged The Dark One for the Wildwood Wrestling Federation championship in a first-ever Backstop match! The only way to win the match is to grab the title belt which is suspended on a 30-foot high steel backstop! Witness the pageantry of the ring entrances of these two superstars and what happens during the playing of the Filipino National Anthem!

Congratulations to the Stanley Cup Champs

Those of you who have tried watching the Slammy Award footage from YouTube that I posted below, don't bother anymore. It appears those fuckers suspended the account of the dude who posted those videos for violating WWE copyrights. Oh well...

On an unrelated note, congratulations to the Hartford Whalers on winning the Stanley Cup last week. What the hell is hockey doing in the carolinas anyway?!? I must commend former Philadelphia Flyer, Rod Brind'Amour on finally sipping from the Cup. A shame he didn't get it while he was in Philly.

Speaking of hockey...here's a gem found on YouTube.com which I doubt will get pulled in the near future, but of course you never know. It comes from the movie, "Swingers", and features NHL HOCKEY on the SEGA GENESIS. Actually I think it was really NHLPA '93. Vince Vaughn says they took out fighting in the game but let you knock a guy out and make 'em bleed. I'm pretty sure they took out both fighting and blood in NHL 94, but fighting and blood were all a part of NHLPA 93. Oh well, who gives a shit. It's still one of the greatest scenes in a movie ever.

YouTube-Mania runnin' wild!!!

Ah...the beauties of YouTube.com.

I was able to get my ECW One Night Stand fix via those loveable users on YouTube. If you search hard enough, you'll probably be able to find them. I'll probably do a podcast soon sharing my thoughts on the PPV.

Meanwhile, I've discovered a couple gems from YouTube that I'd like to share (at least until they probably get yanked!). The first playlist here features the highlights of the 1997 WWF SLAMMY AWARDS. The first video features Mankind's infamous acceptance speech for "Loosest Screw". Not only is his speech HIGH-larious, but Paul Bearer's comments on Sunny are awesome as well (We love it when they break KAYFABE!!!!!). The second video features Owen Hart (Greatest Wrestler EVER!!!) accepting his unprecedented 2nd SLAMMY Award. And finally we have another late great in Brian Pillman. Not as good as the first two videos, but funny how he busts Austin 3:16 for being blasphemous.

And then we have here the WeBleed4Real's contributions to YouTube.

"Damn did that suck, were you guys even trying? Seriously, you make me and my friends look pretty good when compared to you"
- Solidus87

"When are you idiots going to kill yourselves?? oh wait... you actually have to do wrestling move to actually get hurt.. damn you guys suck so bad you will probably do this crap FOREVER. BOOO!!"
- CreepX

"Haha! Now that...was craptacular! WeSuck4Real!! Holy Sh.."

Remembering Marcus

Sorry about the lack of updates for you 'WB4R' fans. Been pretty busy with some other stuff lately. However, I noticed on the calendar that we're coming up on the 3-year anniversary of the passing of our friend Marcus (a.k.a. Grace Cornchip/SkullMaster). So I wanted to post up this video that I made right after hearing the news of Marcus's death. We were fortunate enough to capture all these moments of him making us smile and laugh on video. Hopefully this video along with other videos illustrate the amount of joy he brought to our lives and that his memory will never fade.

I tried to look for the original Hi8 tape that I made this video montage from so that I could make it a little better quality, but I couldn't find it. So I don't know if this H.263 format is exactly video podcast friendly or not, but it doesn't really matter. I just wanted to put something up to remember him by. Maybe down the road, I'll make a new cleaner version from some of the footage that I got.

Hulk Hogan vs. The Great Muta

It's not usual protocol for the WB4R podcast to promote matches other than NJHC/WWF matches. However, your favorite podcaster just has this guilty pleasure of watching some rare wrestling footage on YouTube.com. Yes, there's a lot of crap, but I love seeing the classic World Wrestling Federation videos that people post, as well as some rare Japanese videos that I wouldn't normally see.

I stumbled upon a match between Hulk Hogan and The Great Muta, who was for a long-time The Ivy Leaguer's favorite wrestler (you can see that the Harvard Elbow is very Muta-esque in its execution). According to the post, this match took place in Japan around 1993. I think Hogan left the WWF in 1993 when he lost the title to Yokozuna. It's weird though. He's wearing the WWF title belt, yet he's wearing what looks like WCW Hulka-wear and he's accompanied to the ring by Jimmy Hart.

What's neat about this video is that it's like a bizarro-world. In this match, Hogan doesn't really suck up to the fans like he does in the USA. And even more weird is that Hogan actually does some WRESTLING MOVES!!!

Anyway, this isn't an official podcast, just a link here on the blog to the YouTube Flash movie. I'm interested in what you WB4R fans think about it.

WB4R Podcast: Batista's tendon, Ratings, and Punks

Super Marijoke talks about podcast 'ratings', 12-year old punks, YouTube.com, and previews the upcoming video podcast premiere of Grace Cornchip vs. Spoonman.

He also talks about the WWE, the new champions, and Batista's surgery. Batista probably wouldn't have all these medical problems if he was under the medical care of The Ivy Leaguer.

WB4R breaks into iTunes Top 100....sorta

So I check our podcasts feed stats at feedburner.com to see if the Cambridge Street Fight popped some ratings, and sure enough we reached a record high of subscribers. This contributes to the theory that The Ivy Leaguer=RATINGS. We expect the number of subscribers to increase even more tomorrow when people go back to work, and the anticipated video podcast premiere of Grace Cornchip vs. Spoonman.

If you go to the iTunes Music Store Top 100 podcasts, you'll notice that they recently made it possible to search for Top 100 podcasts in various categories like Sports, Talk Radio, Technology, etc.

We're currently listed in the Arts & Entertainment section, and yes if you scroll down all the way to the bottom of the Top 100, we're ranked #95!! We are more popular than Allure Magazine and CBS Soap Box, SUCKAS!!!!

So who's #1 now? Well it's this animated video podcast called Happy Tree Friends that includes these cute cuddly characters who beat the shit out of each other. In fact, they're not just #1 in Arts & Entertainment, they're #1 overall. They're pretty funny, so congratulations to them.

However, the #2 podcast in Arts & Entertainment is this piece of crap GQ podcast. They have a total of 1 episode and has no business being where it's at. It's not art. It's not entertaining. It's a bunch of stupid clips of so-called celebrities kissing GQ's ass for some reason. Sure, we would be #2 as well if we used a topless Jennifer Aniston for our podcast artwork, but we decide to take the high road and show the back of a certain chalky redhead.

Anyway, it's not like we live for these rankings. But we do appreciate your audience, and look forward to entertaining you more in the new year.

Cambridge STREET FIGHT

This brutal match from the MARIO PARTY PPV features HardCore Herman vs. The Ivy Leaguer where the winner draws enough blood from his opponent to make him a bloody mess.

Due to the violent nature of this video podcast, parental discretion is advised.

Many HardCore Herman fans were disappointed that we did not show his entire Loser-Leaves-The-WWF match. We're happy to announce that this Cambridge Street Fight is presented in its entirety. Be aware that this is a pretty BIG download.
